In the woodland there is an abundance of fern, beautiful moss and many fungi. Spring time is exceptional with snowdrops, bluebells and primroses. For those visitors who wish to explore beyond the boundary of the garden, a public footpath leads you through the woods to join the famous Offa's Dyke long distance path with incomparable views across the Wye Valley.
Our woodland garden is visited by many varieties of birds including chaffinches, wood pidgeons, ring doves, jays, the garden woodpecker, tree creeper, buzzard and the occasional heron can be seen by those with patience and a keen eye. In addition to the beautiful white swans close by, there are many estuarine birds and various types of gull. |
